# Join an organization

In Aximo, you can join an organization by using an invitation email, an invitation link sent by the organization, or a join request during sign-up. This page explains how to join an organization.

{% hint style="warning" %}
When joining from an invitation link, continue with the email address that received the invitation. If you are signed in with a different account, follow the on-screen instructions to sign out before continuing.
{% endhint %}

## Request to join an existing organization during sign-up

When you sign up with a corporate domain email address, Aximo might show existing organizations that have users with the same domain after you create your own organization and verify your email address. To join one of those organizations, request access.

1. After sign-up, create your own organization.
2. Verify your email address.
3. On the **Join your team** screen, check the organization you want to join.
4. Click **Request access**.
5. Confirm that the request was sent.

When an Admin or Owner approves the request, Aximo notifies you by email. To start using Aximo with the organization you created instead of sending a join request, click **Continue to app**.

{% hint style="info" %}
If Aximo does not find an existing organization that matches your domain, the **Join your team** screen does not appear and Aximo opens with the organization you created.
{% endhint %}

## Create a new account and join

If you do not have an Aximo account yet, create an account from the invitation link and join the organization.

1. Open the link in the invitation email, or open the invitation link shared by an administrator in an on-premises environment.
2. Check the invited organization name and the email address that received the invitation.
3. Enter a **Password**.
4. Click **Create Account & Join**.
5. On the confirmation screen that appears, click **Accept Invitation**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Passwords must be at least 8 characters and include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character. You cannot use the same string as the invited email address.
{% endhint %}

## Log in with an existing account and join

If you already have an Aximo account for the invited email address, authenticate with that account and then accept the invitation.

1. Open the invitation link.
2. Check the invited organization name and email address.
3. On the login screen that appears, log in to the account for the invited email address.
4. On the confirmation screen that appears after authentication, click **Accept Invitation**.

## Set a password and join

If an account exists for the invited email address but a password has not been set, set a password on the invitation page before joining the organization.

1. Open the invitation link.
2. Check the invited organization name and email address.
3. Enter **Password** and **Confirm password**.
4. Click **Set a new password**.
5. On the confirmation screen that appears, click **Accept Invitation**.

## Troubleshooting

### Cannot join an organization from an invitation link

**Cause**: The invitation link might have expired or already been processed.

**Action**: Contact an organization **Admin** or **Owner** and ask them to resend the invitation or share a new invitation link.

### Cannot join because you are logged in with another account

**Cause**: Invitations can be accepted only with the account for the invited email address.

**Action**: Check the invited email address shown on the screen and the current account, then click **Sign out and continue**. After that, open the invitation link with the account for the invited email address.
